At Key Stage 4, students are able to undertake the OCR National Level 1/2 Certificate in Sports Studies (J813).
Through the study of 4 units, this course helps students to develop applied knowledge and practical skills in Sports Studies and is designed with both practical and theoretical elements, which will prepare students for further study of qualifications in Sports, Sports Leadership and Coaching.
Enrichment
In order to support individual students throughout their course, with a view to consolidating prior learning and ensuring maximum progress, the Department offers extra-curricular exam revision and coursework sessions, on a Friday evening. The Department will also organise sessions immediately prior to the exam which will focus on exam paper structure, key reminders for dealing with different types of questions and focusing on particular objectives / areas on Contemporary Issues in Sport.

Internal assessment: takes place every half-term.
